Sabrina Ionescu’s exceptional marksmanship leaves fans in awe as the New York Liberty triumph over the Washington Mystics in the WNBA Playoffs.

Sabrina Ionescu continues to dazzle fans with her remarkable shooting skills as the New York Liberty triumphed over the Washington Mystics in the WNBA Playoffs.

Ionescu, who had already etched her name in WNBA history during the regular season by sinking an impressive 128 three-pointers, added another milestone to her résumé by setting a franchise playoff record with seven long-range shots on Friday night. Her stellar performance propelled the Liberty to a convincing 90-75 victory, giving them a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three first-round series.

Ionescu led all players with an outstanding 29 points, displaying her prowess from beyond the arc by connecting on 7 of 13 attempts. As the Mystics attempted a fourth-quarter comeback against the Liberty, Ionescu delivered the knockout blows with back-to-back three-pointers, effectively doubling her team’s lead. In the waning seconds of the game, she sealed the deal with her seventh record-breaking three-pointer.

Ionescu’s dominant performance left fans speculating whether the New York Liberty could be on the cusp of their first appearance in the WNBA finals since 2002.

Jonquel Jones also made her presence felt for the Liberty, recording a double-double with 12 rebounds and 20 points, while Betnijah Laney contributed 19 points to the winning effort. Myisha Hines-Allen led the Mystics with 21 points in a losing cause.

To level the series in Game 2, Hines-Allen, Brittney Sykes, and the rest of the Mystics will need to devise a strategy to contain the unstoppable Sabrina Ionescu. The highly anticipated Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday night.
